Description
I hope this isn't too dark. I can never be sure with these low-light pictures because everyone's display brightness is different.
The outfit that good ol' Garrett is wearing is a mix between his Dark Project outfit and the original Thief III (Not Deadly Shadows) outfit, and some original changes. The original outfit from the Thief III times was a lot cooler than the release version. (Really old screenshot -> [link] ) But since the pre-rendered cutscenes show the Garrett from those early years of developent, and there are no mirrors in the game, I never need to look at the embarrassingly bad Garrett model that the game shipped with because I can play in 1st person mode.
The most difficult part of the picture was the brick wall in the foreground. Well, I knew exactly how to make it, but it was an extremely tedious process. I also planned on adding smoke on the smokestacks but smoke is really hard to do in Paint and I didn't want to use the spray tool. It would have looked bad against the stars.
Since Garrett's right eye is made from brass and glass, I tried to make it shine in the dim background light but I couldn't get the color right. So instead of shining it looks like it's glowing. Which would make no sense since it's an eye, not a flashlight. Right? Right.
